Welcome

This is a small, quiet place. A room set aside from the work itself, where I can say a little about why I'm building what I'm building — and, sometimes, what I've learned along the way.

I'm not a frequent essayist. The posts here will be infrequent, modest, and (with luck) useful. Sometimes a project will need a paragraph of context that doesn't fit anywhere else; sometimes a half-formed idea will earn a few hundred words to see if it holds up. Some pieces will be about software. Some will be about publishing. A few will be about teaching young readers — a quieter strand of the work, but one I care about a great deal.

If you got here from one of the projects in the directory and you'd like to keep an eye on what's next, this is the place to do it. No newsletter, no subscriptions, no analytics. Just a short list, kept in chronological order, of things worth setting down in writing.
